Statement of Concern Regarding the Behaviour of M Toward Other Vulnerable Individuals
By Anna
Introduction
I am writing this statement out of deep
concern, not from a place of accusation, but of responsibility. I am a survivor
of long-term trauma, a disabled woman, autistic and recovering from complex
PTSD. In 2024, while homeless and vulnerable, I was approached by a man known
as M, a former CBS teacher and wealthy property owner with political and social
influence in Ireland. Over the course of two months, I experienced a deeply
disturbing pattern of behaviour from M, which I now believe may indicate broader
risk to other vulnerable people — especially young men.
Coercion and Control Disguised as Support
M presents himself as a benevolent “mentor”
to those he perceives as rescue cases. He repeatedly referred to himself in the
plural — “we will help you,” “we will pay” — even when no one else was
involved. He pushed for control over my welfare status, personal data, and
housing situation. He coerced me into meeting with his private doctor, who
breached my medical confidentiality and gave M access to my sensitive personal
and medical records without my consent. That data has never been returned to
me.
Unstable Housing Offers and Withdrawal of Support
M sought to manipulate my access to state
supports by pressuring me onto disability allowance and into housing schemes
that seemed designed to serve his interests. I was repeatedly pressured to lie
to authorities, and when I resisted, M withdrew his support and left me
homeless again, just days before a planned move to Limerick — a city he knew I
had built my future around.
Pattern of Mentoring Without Oversight
M consistently emphasised his role as a
“mentor” to vulnerable individuals — always referring specifically to men,
except on one occasion when he told me he was mentoring vulnerable families who
were his tenants – this haunts me now. Early in our interactions, when I tried
to walk away from him due to growing alarm about his behaviour, he insisted
that he had years of mentoring experience and that men always came back to
thank him. Both he and his doctor spoke about the many “men” M had brought to
the clinic, suggesting a long-running and informal pattern of intervention
involving vulnerable males.
When I briefly left his care after three weeks, M sent me what he claimed was a
reference from a young man he had mentored. The young man had been a CBS
student and a scholarship recipient. The document, however, was not a reference
but an essay about winning the scholarship, with only a vague mention of M —
possibly referring to another teacher with the same name. Despite this, M used
it as evidence of his mentoring credentials.
More concerningly, M later tried to involve this former student in my life
without my consent, naming him as one of seven individuals he had lined up to
“mentor me” when I moved to Limerick. This adult, now running a business/teaching,
had no prior relationship with me, and I was given no choice or say in the
arrangement. This pattern — of forming long-term, unequal relationships with
those he once “mentored” and later re-involving them in his control-based
schemes — is deeply troubling.
He also had two 19-year-olds from his native county housed in a neighbouring
penthouse, and he described mentoring one who had lost both parents to suicide.
Again, questions arise: how old were they when they moved in? What is the
nature of their relationship to M? What safeguards, if any, exist?
M described mentoring numerous tenants. He offered no clarity on what this
mentorship involved, how individuals were selected, or whether any outside body
provided supervision or oversight. There is no transparency, no records, and no
evidence of consent-based support — just a repeated, unaccountable involvement
in the lives of vulnerable people, almost all of them male.
Conclusion
I am not in a position to launch legal
proceedings, nor do I have the emotional or financial capacity to investigate
M’s past. However, I believe that my experience points to a serious need for
oversight. If he continues to “mentor” vulnerable individuals without
accountability, especially those unable to advocate for themselves, there is
risk of further harm. He showed no remorse for destroying me, and is indeed
causing ongoing harm by being proud of himself in the press and reminding me, two
years later, that he’s a risk to the vulnerable and cares nothing for the
lasting harm to me.
This statement is not made lightly. I carry no vendetta, but I have lived
through the confusion, violation, and long-term damage caused by his behaviour.
I am making this public now because silence only protects those who exploit
others.
